Polish Female Newborn in UK, what gift is more indicated?

Hello, I live in London UK. A polish couple in my neightborhood has a new female baby. She's borned yesterday :)
What kind of present is more indicated for a newborn according to polish traditions? Is there anything should be avoided as it may be seen as offensive or bad luck?

By the way: I've asked yesterday to the father what's the name of the newborn and he replied "it will be decided tomorrow"... is it a particular polish tradition or just indecision by the parents?

Thanks, D.

My hint is to buy a good (not "Chinese") teddy, a rattle or maybe a safe colorful rubber toy. For her it would be though rather indifferent since she's just a little babe.

according to polish traditions?

I don't know such a thing for a newborn, the toy is for kid's fun - it don't have to be specially connected with Poland...
