Hello, we (me and my wife) wish to adopt a newborn baby from Poland, but we do not know the rules and law of Poland. We are not Polish and we are living in UK. We do not have any baby. Can you help?

Let me tell you that it's not going to happen. New born babies are in huge demand, and it's highly unlikely that you'll even be considered to adopt one.

Most European countries have banned international adoptions. The Ukraine may be the last one.

Maybe your intentions are good but most likely questionable. there are plenty of children everywhere waiting to be adopted. And don't think for a minute your are going to conceal the truth from the child. It WILL catch up with you.

What about calling up the church, they usually have a few for sale. 1772 sold with paperwork in 2010, I believe. Then of course there are the sales that go unrecorded.

Why a Polish child, there are plenty of children who need families in the British system? There are many slightly older or mixed race children who are desperate for a good home.

Merged: Adopting child from Poland to the UK - by Brits living abroad

Is there anyone who can help me finding contacts to assist us adopting a child from Poland to the UK?

To make matters complicated, we are only British nationals, not residents (we are currently in the Middle East, but contemplating going back to Europe). Solicitors say we can adopt from abroad but because we are not UK residents, the British law for the process does not apply to us, that we should follow the regulations of a country we would adopt from. And accordingly, all UK based adoption agencies dealing with international adoptions refuse to take us on, since we live abroad.

I was born and raised in Poland, but husband is British.

Anyone knows anyone who have had similar experience and could give us any advice?

many thanks in advance
Anna

Its not an easy process to adopt even if you are both Poles living in Poland. Throw one foreigner into the equation and that will generate huge hassle - you would be better off checking a specialist website in Polish language, i know one expat with a Polish wife who adopted here and it was a painful and intrusive process lasting about 6 months - and he is someone living here for a long time.
