Renewal of Polish passport from the USA

Wrong! You do have to go to the consulate personally and get electronically finger printed and they will mail you the passport in 6 weeks

Unless, of course, they already have your prints....

I dread these situations. I got a visa from the Polish consulate in L.A.. When I got to Poland, I found out the consulate in L.A. gave me the wrong one. The authorities in Poland told me to fly to L.A. to the correct one. Luckily my employer worked it out.

Dealing with any embassy/consulate can be maddening in the end, in my experience.

That is indeed the only sensible solution. At least one of the people posting in this thread has form when it comes to posting utter rubbish about passports (for example claiming that he got a Polish passport through marriage when he has never resided in Poland).

hello, im a polish citizen living in new jersey and i have a question about renewing my passport... How long does it take for the 10 year passport to arrive and a temporary one? Am i allowed to request both at the same time? On monday im going to the embassy in new york to renew it, and im a bit worried since im going on vacation the second week of march and won't have it in time. I screwed up waiting this long, I know you can have it expedited and stuff. Anyone know the prices too? Thanks!

I've found the above very informative. My most recent Polish passport expired in February of this year and I'd like to renew it. I, however, cannot read or write in Polish. Applying in the consulate in New York, will I need to complete the forms in Polish or will I need to complete in Polish?

There is a small xerox/picture place round the corner on Madisson ave by the consulate,they can fill it in Polish for a fee,also there are lots of polish agencies in greenpoint who can do that for you for a fee.
