Any comments about NM?

I'm not from New Mexico. However, I'm going to Carlsbad & Roswell this week. I can't wait to attend the UFO festival!

MODS/ADMIN: why change the name of my thread to something that is only a small portion of the subject?
A. I never asked about only polish people in NM on PF. I was interested in anyone.
B. If I only wanted people from NM to read my thread I wouldn't have asked if they had any questions or comments because obviously they would live here.

C. At least you didn't merge it with a totally irrelevant thread.

Well it's hot as usual down there right now! ugh.

The chances of someone who has no interest in Poland or Polish people reading this thread are slim. People come to PF to read, learn, chat about Poland or Polish related subjects. If you like, I can take "Polish" out the title and put the thread in the off-topic lounge. That way anyone can chat about anything in New Mexico. Otherwise, to remain in the public forum, it must have a Polish theme.

Thanks.

Understood. I should have posted in the off-topic lounge. Thanks for your help.

New Mexico? If you've never been to the moon it just might be your 2nd prize.

That might be funny? I don't know. I'm guessing you are some habitual **********. I like your style, but you need to elaborate for me.

**********.

Guilty as charged. Well, I like forests. I'm from the Northeast and we're all snobs and dickheads. It was desolate to me, but that's just me. Pgtx liked it and she's a sweetheart so I would give her thoughts more importance.

It is filled with drunk, brain-dead indians and ****** mexicans. It doesn't have anything to offer to anyone who posesses standards or intelligence. Landscape is very nice, people suck.

P.S. I live in NM.

Well, travel around a little. There's a lot of drunk everybody. A lot of stupid; a lot of smart. It's all a damn dream anyway. :-D

I think it's about the same size as Poland, that's what I think.

You should go to Santa Fe. There's some places to ski in winter that are cheaper than Colorado. It's mostly desert.

if you go to santa fe than go to taos. cool sorta artsy type place in the mountains. In the south is Little Tonto National Park which is very nice. Silver City is cool especially the hotsprings...

I've only been thru NM without stopping long. Sounds like it has some nice places. It has a hot air balloon festival but I forget when it is.

White Sands Testing Area . . . generally regarded as being responsible for the "Roswell Incident". Any "greys" here? ;)

Those gypsum dunes are lovely in the sun. That would be a cool place to visit.

I have traveled, that's why I have an accurate idea of what life is like in other places. I'm a lot of drunk too, but I can still get up and go to work the next day. And statistically NM the second-to-last dumbest state in the US. Crime rates are 1.5-2 times the national average in every category except arson....

Im just waiting for my girl to finish her masters degree so we can get the **** out of this state.

BTW. where are you living in the northeast?

Most likely Mich. That is where all of my extended family is. Plus my girl and I really like the atmosphere, demographic, etc.

Most likely Mich.

Michigan? really? what's your second choice?

Somewhere midwest, Illinois or Missouri would be a tie for second place.

A little outside of Boston. It's okay, very expensive. Michigan is one of my favorite states too (if you avoid Detroit). Only problem is that unemployment is so bad there right now. I think they'll be okay eventually though. Very nice people there. Lots of Poles, Czechs.

Ahhh Boston area, I see. You guys aren't cool there unless you do the stereotypical boston matt-damon-from-the-departed.

My boss is from Agawam. He is an ******* and a dickhead. ha.

Mich will turn around in a few years, hopefully about when we are ready to move there. Houses are DIRT cheap there right now too.

If you are going to visit New Mexico, you must stop by at White Sands National Monument. The only bad thing is they test nuclear missiles there.

White Sands is made up of large gypsum dunes that are hard like plaster of paris so you can climb them and walk on them. It's the largest pure gypsum dune field in the world.

There's a walking trail and a trail you can drive thru.
There's a White Sands Institute that offers courses in photography.
Animal species that have become white due to natural selection (lizards, spiders, mice, scorpions, toads) can be found throughout the dunes. It's definitely a must-see.

white sands is pretty cool. Haven't been there in years but i always remember leaving with sand EVERYWHERE. In my hair, shoes, clothes, and body places (nothing gross).

I used to live in northeastern Arizona not far from Gallup, NM.
It's a nice town.
It's populated by mostly
Navajo Indians.
