I arrived in Krakow on December and I am looking for a women volleyball team close to the City Center in Krakow where I could play once or twice a week.
Since I don't speak Polish yet, it would be great if they speak english or french. Any advise ? Thanks.

Wisła Kraków, but they play in Second Division, almost advanced to the elite Division (top 10 clubs in Poland), so I guess you need something more amateur?

Volleyball is really popular in Poland (number 2, 3 or 4 among team sports - depending on the region), you should find some teams in lower divisions as well.

look for "siatkówka" or "klub siatkarski"
or if you don't understand Polish at all, give us more info (your level, age, expectations), so someone can try and look for some suitable solutions for you.

I used to play in Switzerland in a 3rd ligue so I am not a pro but Im not bad neither. I've been playing for the last 15 years.
I started polish lessons 1 month ago so it's very basic.
Im 28 years old, living on ul. Krowoderska in the city center and working on Jana Pawla II 196. Basically a team close to those places would be just perfect since I don't have a car.
My expectations is joining a team who more or less has my level, training once or twice a week. I don't mind doing championships neither since I used to do it in my country.
Your help would be mostly appreciated.
Thanks again.

I can't help about the addresses, I don't know Kraków well :(
So use a city plan to find out which are close to you.

There are 3 Cracovian clubs in II Liga (which is 3rd Division, because the highest one is called Ekstraklasa with 10 teams, then I Liga with 16 teams, and finally II Liga with 4 groups, 14-16 teams in each groups, there's probably also III Liga as well, but I can't find any info at the moment, so let me know if you still need it)

Kraków-based teams (the first 2 are university clubs, but I hope you don't need to be their student to play, maybe you have to join AZS - Akademicki Związek Sportowy = Academic Sports Association, but it's not sure either, ask them).

1/ AZS AGH Wisła Kraków - I'm not sure if you qualify for this team as they're looking for teenagers, school girls or young student of AGH - their oldest player is 22 y.o. most are just 17-20 y.o. (this is NOT the same I Liga club I mentioned in my previous post, but they're affiliated and many girls from this II Liga club go to the I Liga Wisła)
mobile phone (0)608 050 112
e-mails (some may be outdated, the info on their site seems to be old)
pekus2@gazeta.pl
azsaghwisla@o2.pl
azswisla@agh.edu.pl
they have trainings at ul. Piastowska 26b or at Hala TS Wisła (probably the I Liga club, so maybe ul. Reymonta, not sure)

2/ AZS Uniwersytet Ekonomiczny Kraków
playing at Hala UEK, ul. Rakowicka 27
coach: Marek Zawartka

contact:
Klub Uczelniany Akademickiego Związku Sportowego
Uniwersytetu Ekonomicznego w Krakowie
ul. Rakowicka 27
31-510 Kraków
Pawilon Dydaktyczno-Sportowy, I piętro (2nd floor) , pok. 6 (room 6)
(that's this building:

building

)
tel. 0-12 293-56-72
fax. 0-12 293-50-70
e-mail: azs.ae(at)wp.pl

3/ KS Armatura Kraków
30-418 Kraków;
ul. Zakopiańska 72d;
phone (0-12) 269 22 51
e-mail: biuro@ksarmatura.pl (office)
siatkowka@ksarmatura.pl (volleyball section)

I have no idea if they speak English or French, but it shouldn't be a big problem, some people play in best football clubs (earning millions a year) and they can't actually communicate in foreign languages.
If you need I could translate for you some basic volleyball terms :)

What's your position on the field?

Dear Krzysztof,
thanks for all those information.
The second one looks nice and is not far from my place so that would be perfect. I'll ask one of my polish colleague to call to find out and will let you know.
By the way, I am playing in attacking position. Started with aisle but lately was appointed to the center position.
