If you have good English you will find work no problem in Ireland, possibly within a few hours. There is a huge labour shortage in Ireland and most Irish dont want to work in the poorly paid service industry (only 8 euro per hour) so the gap is usually filled by Polish/Chinese or Lithuanians. You will find work no problem in a Pub,shop or Building site.

If your English is poor dont come to Ireland, nobody will give you work. ( i cant stress this enough, many non English speaking Poles are living on the streets in Dublin)

Finding a place to live is much harder than finding a job. Irish people dont usually rent and with the huge amount of Immigrants in the country now there is not enough places for them all to live. It could take up to six weeks to find a place to live. If you have friends in Ireland stay with them at first or else stay in Hostels.

Hope this was helpful.

Brian.

Yeah so? Is there something wrong with getting experience elsewhere to bring new skills home so that you can be successful? People all over the world do it digi.

Why is it that GB people are are such snobs? They don't want to share their country with other nations, yet they invade other countries.

It depends on how determined you are to going to any of these places and succeeding. I believe anyone can accomplish anything they set there mind to with much perseverence and hard work. Personally, I'm partial to the U.S. because I live here and I believe it to be one of the best countries to live in. I'm not putting down other countries by saying that, I'm just very happy to have grown up here. Opportunities and possibilities are limitless if you are willing to work hard to achieve. Good luck to you, wherever you decide to go!

I just watched a holocaust movie, the concentration camps in Poland, people telling their stories, how they murdered innocent children by smashing their heads on rocks, etc. And it makes me think, that people like freddy are not any different than hitler. They feel it's in their duty to destroy less fortunate then themselves, be they Jewish or Polish. We are all human beings, we all have feelings, we all need food to survive.
England is being invaded by Poles, but Poles are being invaded by Muslims. it's a cicle. Life is too short. It's not their fault they were born Jewish or Polish. We all need to survive.
There was an influx of Hmongs in Wisconsin. Some didn't like it, but now they came to realize that they are people too.
But too much of anything is not good. England is an Island and they should have limits as to how many people can stay there. Too many Poles in England is not a good idea. Specially if they don't have a job, because then they become not welcomed.

Hmongs are people from Laos. They come from the mountains, they live without running water and electricity. They like eating dogs and cats, and when they first came to USA, they did not know that we don't eat our pets and 3 of my dogs disapeared when they showed up as well as many others' . I was angry because they were purebred show dogs which I raised for showing and breeding.
They stopped doing it now because they got into trouble for doing it. But we still have to watch our dogs.

They didn't eat my pony. It wouldn't fit in their trunk.
I don't think about it. I forgave and forgot. It's in the past. My daughter goes to kindergarten with Hmong children and occasionally I go there to eat lunches and play in the playground. They're nice kids. They all follow me around. I only didn't like the guys that stole my dogs.
But it's over now.

well, what type of experience do you have?
I dont really know what you would have to do to come over to the states, but I know
if you came here, we dont mind there are lots of Polish here, all over.
I know if you have experience in hospital, we have major shortage in terms of
nursing, and also direct care. but this happens from time to time, we have overload
then shortage. people change jobs and go to new facilities.

LOL...so cows, sheep, and even horses....don't have feelings........and esp. horse aren't loved?

Oh, please its only another animal..............a dog that is, given human characteristic traits by people who have lots of time on their hands for animals.......and not humans......

Yes, if the dog"belonged" to you it was theft, not fair, but if they eat/breed dogs for eating and kill them humanely, I don't believe that there is a law against it in most(all) countries?

It takes all sorts, some we agree with others......well....

And to go back on thread, yes the points raised by posters are very relevant, aim for an area of defined shortages, nursing at the moment - the RCN magazine is saying that trusts will sack 20000 in the next 6 months, but in some areas there is a huge need for midwifes, so do lots of research.

Manual , basic jobs may now become harder to get.

Point one....do get your English up to a good standard.
Two...network with your friends/family who have already gone there
Three...make arrangements for temp accommodation BEFORE you leave
Four ....have a back up fund to tide you over for 4 weeks, just in case
Five...if possible have a job set up for you BEFORE you arrive
Six...don't believe everything you are told/read in papers/message boards!!

Come to the U.S. of A! You'll feel almost at home in Chicago. It's very polish oriented if you catch my drift. It's got a pretty chilly climate this time of year so it's a lot like Europe.

I'm American and we seem to get mostly Mexicans here. These people are awful. I would much prefer a person from Poland. The Polish I have been are good law-abding and productive people. Come here if you are not wanted in the UK or Ireland

Thats a really profound, selfish and racist remark......
