Warsaw Etuda airport?

I was reading some travel tips to Poland. I found the following:

"Whatever, try to avoid flying to Etuda airport which has been erected next to Warsaw's main terminal for the sole purpose of mistreating low cost travellers."

Any truth to this? What's so bad about Etuda? This airport was one of my options. Thanks!

nothing bad about it. it's a small terminal, that's it. been there and didn't have any problems. if you fly by cheap airlines to Warsaw you will pass by Etiuda terminal.

peoples experiences at etiuda airport...

airlinequality.com/Airports/Airport_forum/waw.htm

this one made me laugh... welcome to poland...!

"What made me laugh (which is hard in the circumstances) was how the ignorant girl working in the kiosk (there are no shops or cafes here) decided after the flight had been delayed and people were hot and bored to start stacking the shelves and close the shop. It beggers belief!! At one point I felt there may be a riot on the cards. Then 30 minutes later she calmly opened up again to a half mile long queue. The conditions are terrible, service none existant, toilets appalling. "

I have been to that terminal a couple of times ,i dont think its to bad. It's small and there is no shops or cafes ,but there is just a 10 minute walk to the other terminal that has all this things. The terminal is not bad at all.

I flew Etiuda to Luton on Saturday afternoon, people were queuing outside the terminal to check in with confusion as to which queue to join for their respective flights. At one stage a rope barrier was erected at the enterence and people were only being let in if they had an imminent departure.Once in ,the gate area was packed and i could not get a seat(i have never been able to get a seat). It was very hot and humid with no aircon and in conclusion a very uncomfortable experiance. It is a new terminal but already too small!

I just read the reviews in the link provided by BubbaWoo. Is Warsaw airport really that bad? One comment stated that you should not check in any luggage; you should only have carry-on. How true is this?

I've never been to Warsaw airport. I'll be flying from Chicago to there soon. Will I expect the same experiences as the reviewers?

Well, for those who have flown from the US to Warsaw, do you have any tips as to how to make things smoother? I really don't know what to expect.

Thanks!

Opposite way round, it said that all luggage should be checked in.

No, it is not that bad. Perhaps for Poles it is, but for foreigners stuff is friendly so there is nothing to worry about. Oh, it is jus small terminal.

Nothing wrong with checking the luggage except you might wait a while before it gets unloaded from plane. If you think you can fit everything in your carry-on, being without shampoo, toothpaste or any other liquids then you're doing good, otherwise how you gonna bring any souvenirs from Poland if they don't fit in your carry-on? If you are flying straight from the US to Poland it would be impossible for them to lose your luggage, right? ;)

I haven't been to many international airports. However, I've had my fair share of being in domestic airports in the US. From my perspective, Warsaw's airport was not as bad as described. Although the lines were somewhat disorganized, it didn't compare to the extremely exaggerated picture that I had in mind. I was able to get to my gate in less than 1 hour and the restrooms were abundant and clean.
