Warsaw travellers advice

Hi,

I will visit warsaw this summer, possibilliy mid August with a friend of mine. I visited some tourism websites but getting some good advice from residents will always be better.

1) Accomodation:
I have a tent and all necessary camping equipment. So a camping place with access to showers would be enough. If this is not possible a cheap hostel would be OK too. But none of them should be too far from city center.

2) Eating
I would always prefer local food. So if you know any good places that offer Polish cusine for an avarage price please share it with me.

3)Places To Visit
If you know a secret beauty that I cannot find in any tourist guide I will love to here it...
The rest I know :)

4) Entertainment & Night Life
I would love to meet local people. So again I prefer somewhere that local youths hang on rather then an expensive tourist spot.

I am waiting for suggestions. If you have enough will and energy to provide.

Thanks all in advance !

PS: I reside in Istanbul. If you need any info about my city please contact me. I will help as much as I can.

1. I'm not sure about camping sites in Warsaw.. Near Warsaw - maybe, not not in the city, I guess...

2. You won't have problems with that - many locations to buy local Polish food in Warsaw area.

3. Hmm - I'd focus on the well-known places first to be on the safe side.

4. No problems with that - night life in Warsaw is pretty much alive every day.

Rynek? :) - it actually applies to all Polish towns and cities; "Rynek" (the main square/market) is usually in the center of the town/city and there are most attractions there.

What height? I guess you haven't been to NYC ;)

Are there building height restrictions in the UK?

When you step out of the lift, at the top, your feet don't feel like part of your body. It's because of the speed of the lift. It's weird.

Tele, when are you in Wroclaw.

Thats awesome Daf. You can come back to teach us sth then :) I'm sure you'll have a blast. I haven't spent to much time in Warsaw, but I hear good things about the nightlife.

Sure you would :) May get a bit queezy while up top though...especially of the building is moving side to side from flexing with the wind :)

Fun!!

Lots of cloud, some rain, but warm. Not a very good summer to be honest.
