Warsaw Uprising Museum

Anyone been? What were your thoughts ?

I thought it was a fascinating place to visit with intelligent use of interactive displays as well as memorabilia from the time. An essential visit if anyone is to understand modern day Warsaw.

I also went to the old Gestapo HQ in Aleja Szucha. A very sombre experience but again well worth the trip.

IMO the best Polish museum.

I have been there. It is a wonderful museum and at the same time almost a holy place.

I have finally managed to go there recently. It is a state-of-the-art museum, best in Poland I should say. If you go there you will understand why Warsaw looks now the way it does.
I would not call it a holy place, but it makes you think.

Maybe something was lost in translation and perhaps it isn't a holy place. However, describing it as quite a spiritual and moving experience might be a better way of describing it.

Bottom line is this is possibly the best museum in Poland and you cannot understand or appreciate Warsaw without visiting this museum first

Judging by the website alone, this really does look like an impressive museum and a must for anyone visiting the city. I was really suprised how cheap entry is too.

I for one will be sure to visit next time I'm in Warsaw

I visited last summer when I was in Warsaw. Truly a moving experience. I could have watched the old films in the theater for hours. And yes, if you don't know anything about what happened to Warsaw in WWII it helps to explain why the city looks like it does today.
