it's really not a biggie, but to clear things out, that's what I meant:

"nie dziêkujê" is not the same as "nie, dziêkujê" (with comma after "nie")

"nie, dziêkujê" = no, thanks, when you deny something offered to you
"nie dziêkujê" = (literally:) I'm not thanking you (for your good luck wishes, because if I did it would bring me bad luck)

i asked my boyfriend about the watch thing, but he said he's never heard of it. So i guess he is either not superstitious or just wants me to buy him a watch :)

Yeah it’s a well know fact that its unlucky to buy your gf or bf a watch..... it’s a superstition.... but still better never to do it and tempt fate!

do you really think that? I know he wants a watch and would be happy to get one... maybe he is trying to finish with me?

There is apparently a way "around' these superstitions.

I lost a pair of my gf's expensive shoes (long story) so I bought her new ones to replace them...she gave me 1 groszy so she technically 'bought' them from me and didn't get them as a gift :)

We are as happy as ever and no running away yet so it must have worked.
