LOL, well I know a few Polish people that came to my home town with exactly the same situation. Get yourself down to an empoloyment agency and they will get you some work! The only thing is that it's just after Xmas and so alot of places will be very slow at the moment - BUT hopefully things will pick up soon

True on this from a british females angle
But there is some agencies listed in the Free Press paper Maya .. i am ringing best connections up see if anything in the hours i can work available
Worked for Templine twice and they struck me off as i was ill even though wincanton knew about it so i am not impressed with them ... plus i dont see a certain someone as result now who works at New Look site (who templine employ for) oh well never mind (she says!!)

im learning polish at college Wayc00lio on thursday evenings between 7-9pm covering months/dates and seasons at minute in polish ... i would recommend with the help of your polish girlf that you start with the alphabet makes it alot easier then build from there.

How are you learning otherwise? ie without assistance from your girlf ?
I have a number of disks i use the only one i dont tend to listen to is the EuroTalk Polish beginners one as it sounds sooooooo robotic!!!

LOL, I have a few discs that I'm using. Also a English/Polish/English translation book. All my Polish friends roll around the floor laughing when I try and pronounce words from it!!! Needless to say they correct me! It's such a difficult language to learn so I may well sign up for a course in the next month or so. Trouble is I'm busy applying for jobs and I hope to move down to London shortly to start work in my profession, hence me knowing about the employment agencies (I still need to work LOL!!!).

Learning Polish is going to be a real challenge but worth it in the long run!!!!

LOL, well I only did French at school and if I go to France then I know how to ask where the train station is, maybe tell someone they have a pen in their hand or go up to someone and say "Hello, my name is James!"

Not much use at all LOL!!!!!

Maya, best way to learn 'proper English' is to purchase an English grammar textbook, this will give you a good understanding about English - verbs, adjectives, nouns, pro-nouns...etc. Go to a large book shop and ask the advice of the shop assistant, I would recommend you start with a secondary school level English Grammar textbook.
