Hey, my friend Gosia is from Gdansk! I've seen pictures and it looks a beautiful place. I especially like the old buildings that are different colours. I couldn't tell from the photo but it looks to be close to a river?

Thanks on those pic's never been north in Poland only to Krakow and Zakopane

But as mentioned before i am doing a trek of Poland going from Gdansk and finishing in Zakopane ... just have to organise accommadation to stay and then the transport within Poland keep being told to avoid the Polish train services

Wow the castle looks impressive and that pier i will certainly know where to go?

In case no one knows (in case anyone wants to give me recommendations on anything)
Im going to
Gdansk
Torun
Poznan
Warsaw -- though the polish i speak to seem to say avoid lol
Wroclaw/Czestochowa(think i have spelt it correctly)
Krakow
and then finally my tranquil place
Zakopane

Have been there Maya went in 2003 and i have said that i would only go again if needs must as i couldnt go again it was the first time i had been to Auschwitz (Oświęcim) and it moved me completely ... i even went in the gas chambers ... shudder !!!

I have also been to Wielicka Salt Mines --- In case some people havent been WOW WOW at them drawings in the salt ... and no i aint kidding people they have a picture of the last supper and others actually etched beautifully into the salt walls and there is a functioning altar/church in there.

Though coming back up in the actual miners shaft lift is an experience Mental LMAO oh the memories

T,

I wouldn't do it in that order.

If you are careful, as in any country, the trains are OK. Just make sure you make a seat reservation. [where possible]

For Polish people Warsaw is a no no. It depends what you want to see. I like some parts of the city.

There are plenty of us here who can give you tips on each individual city.

You only need two days to do the high speed tour of Wroclaw. Three or four days [in Wroclaw] should fit it all in comfortably.

Tell me what you expect to find in Wroclaw and I'll give you more info.

The 'Panorama' has its own web-site if you want to check it out.

Yeah i will check out the website if that is alright whats the link?

Thanks on the advice Wroclaw what order would you recommend or anyone for that matter ... ? I am planning on going approx the week commencing 16th July 2007 as this is just after the last polski lekcja at college.

I was planning on about three days in Wroclaw. I have read somewhere there is a National Park around this area could be mistaken but i would like to check that out for the wildlife and scenery (im a scenery freek lmao) but i do like the culture and the history of places

Yeah you are saying exactly what the polish people that i knew at Wincanton would tell me about Warsaw ... as mentioned it would be the history and such like i would visit place but as i am taking my daughter on a cultural experience for best part of her 6 week summer holiday from school i am visiting that water park PMSL (im a big kid at heart really i want to go if i am honest)

I have vague memories of Krakow and Zakopane to be honest 2nd night in Krakow i was a tad drunk wasnt going out so drunk half a bottle of strong polish vodka with OJ to myself then got dragged into city centre by other students who bought me polish beer and have you EVER had the two together (not in same glass mind but drunk one and then drunk the other) it does not bowed well with your body and senses LMAO ROFL

Oh dear the memories ... Zakopane i made snow angels in the snow everytime i found fresh patches of snow (how sad!!) lol
