Whats your favourate hot alcoholic drink?

Recently ive been trying to expand my tastes in alcohol, for scientific reasons only of course. i came across the famous hot wine on krakows market square. it so yummy, but also goes straight to your head:) i found when exploring the market that drinking this and eating the grilled mountain cheese is an exceptional way to keep warm and prolong your need for the indoors.

id also like to know if anyone has good recipes for alcoholic drinks that keep your temperature up, or gets you drunk enough to forget the cold:)

go to nearest Lidls and buy a bottle there

put in mug and microwave for one minute

there's a restuarant just off the old market square in Warsaw - grzane wino to die for - cloves, cinamon and orange peel (not sure whether spelled correctly)

you can get it here too, its like the stuff i was drinking on square

well im not planning on moving on, atleast untill ive stayed here for a few more years, or might settle down here now i have my house done and dusted:)

Hot Toddy - hot tea, honey, Irish whiskey (or brandy). Yum!

Baileys in Coffee i have and it helps you sleep (though it 345am here in UK at min and i am still wide a bloody wake .. grrhhhh)

Nothing like a hot Irish whiskey on a cold night, with some sugar, a slice of lemon, and a few cloves thrown in.

That's a dangerous thing for me to read. I have all of the above ingredients other than the whiskey with an e. I have a bottle of Laphroaig. Will that do as a substitute?

I like mulled wine, but it seems like far too long since I've had any.

:-( Fair cop! Too many beers already! Cant say I'm familiar with Laphroaig, but seeing as its a single malt, and God knows the scots can make a good whisky too, I doubt you'll go too far wrong with it. Go on, treat yourself!

As for a favorite one, I'm not much of a drinker so I take joy in occasional only sampling of all kinds of wines. Niagara is dotted with wineries so there is lots to choose from. Ice Wine is a big hit here, but all it's good for is just a small sip.

once or twice I drank also warm mead (just normal Polish mead, but hot and probably with some spices, but I don't remember what), it was good, although I generally hate sweet alcohol, so I drink it very rarely.

yeah, that's the best and easiest way to drink warm wine at home, because it's ready to drink - already contains spices. they also give it in some pubs in Poland.

black tea with rum, a slice of orange+cinnamon and cloves - really warms you up:)
