For the time being it is surprisingly warm as for this time of year. no snow yet - at least not where I live (northern poland). But soon it may get as cold as -25C with lots of snow. You never know here

-25C may happen, but usually It's seriously below 0C only for about 3 weeks a year.

What ??well we had snow for about 5 months last year. It was below zero for at least 4 of those and -28 at night. This was close to the southern border next to the karkonoske mountains. Not sure where Greg was living ????

This year it has been exceptionally warm by comparison and has not even gone below 0 yet !!! so who knows

There was snow a month ago and it has been below zero a few times since. This morning we had frost in the suburbs.

I haven't seen the new 3-month forecast for Eastern Europe yet, but the UK is set for a slightly warmer and wetter than usual Dec-Feb - which tends to suggest that the cold weather fronts from the east will be less intense this winter.

Dec 16, 06 [10:39] - Attached on merging:
The Weather in Poland.

For those of you coming over to Poland.

I'll start.

Wroclaw: Today we woke up to frost. Blue skies most of the day and warm for the time of year. A big coat wasn't needed. This evening there is a light wind coming in from the west.

My forecast: Don't expect snow just yet.

Boooo!

Well, I hope you get some soon in the south. I'll be on holiday in the Czech Rep. (Czarna Hora-Janskie Laznie) for a week in Jan.

you'll love Czech Rep., Janskie Laznie is a spa town, go have some treatments, they are brilliant and expect 5 start treatment for budget prices, spent some time in Karlovy Vary this year which is one of the most famous spa towns in Czech and loved it..

Not sure what snow you'll get for snow boarding though, I would say late Jan early Feb is best time for skiiing over there.

According to one weather report: Snow coming in from the east. Snow in the mountains.

It has been trying to snow all day here, but it just comes down as drizzle.

I see a wet Christmas for us.

Yesterday we had a hoare frost and small parts of the river had ice.

Today we woke to ordinary frost. Small ponds and some, very small, sections of river are frozen over. There was also a light dusting of snow.

If we had snow then there must be snow in the mountains.

Update.

We now have snow coming down thick and fast.

Z / F check the weather reports for the mountains. I don't want to let you down if it changes.
