Rather not. Kiełbasa myśliwska and kabanosy are also good.

I love cutting it into smalli pieces and frying it for a small amount of time with onions and then adding it to scrambled egg. Polish specialty im told. Best breakfast along with a bacon and egg sandwich(plus HP sauce, damn I miss that stuff,)

Any smoked sausage doesn't have to be cooked, although cooking can bring out additional flavor. I cook weijska. I don't cook swojska. I never cook kabanos. I cook weiselna.

I see, regionp that you got the names under control :) How about the "white" uncooked polish sausage? I love making it with peepers, onions and mushrooms in a tomato sauce, kind of italian style. Ask your wife to make it, or better yet, make it yourself... Delicioso.
Any of the sausages mentioned can be put on the grill and today is the day! I hope it will not rain this afternoon.

My wife makes white borscht. She puts fresh sausage in several soups. I love to just eat sausage sandwiches. Nothing says Sunday afternoon quite like the aroma of freshly baked sausage.

Oh, oh, another polish custom died in The US... No more rosol and schabowy for sunday dinner? lol. Anyway, the aroma of baked/pan fried/boiled/grilled sasuage...can't beat it. I'm getting hungry.

I'm fourth generation. I just figured Polish sausage was as authentic as it got. My wife, upon reading your post, now tells me about pork. I'm all for it.

I was at a Polish deli with my mom and some Americans were asking the woman at the counter if they could grill kabanosy and my mom almost had a heard attack.

You can grill Kabanosy :) Some prefer not to because of it's dryness, but you can grill it. Some people marinate it then grill it.

Do you find it unusual that a foreigner isn't familiar?

btw. all sausage can be cooked again although i don't think i have ever seen krakowska or the like heated.

the white sausage has to be cooked though. it is raw at the store. personally i love it in white borscht.

besides that all others can be eaten as they are.. even kiszka.
