Didn't watch the game ...... 4-3 to Legia on penalties :o(, and by all accounts the better team on the day won.

Well done Legia, and Roger was 'Man of the Match'.

Well, Jan Mucha saved two penalties and Roger is named MVP. Something is wrong here :)

Ps. Nevertheless Wisła is Polish Champion. Face it :p

Puchar Polski means nothing. Wisła is the champion in the league, and that matters.

Easy to say when you lose it. You're tune would not be so similar had your club pulled its head out its a** yesterday, no?

It has to be said that winning the League is a greater achievement than winning the Cup Final ......

Over the course of a season the team that finishes top of their League has proved that they are the best in that particular country .... so in Poland's case it is Wisła Krakow who are Champions of Poland :o)))

Winning a Cup Final does not make that team the best in that country ... for example if one looks at the Cup Finalists in England, Portsmouth and Cardiff City .... one wouldn't say these are the two best teams in England .... (especially with Cardiff being Welsh!)

However , looking at the English Premiership you'd have to agree that Man Utd and Chelsea are the 2 best teams in England at present, with Man Utd having the slight edge ..... after all they finished as Champions of England !
I hope that Chelsea get their revenge and beat Man Utd next Wednesday in Moscow !!!

So when looking at Poland ..... Wisła Krakow are the best team, followed by Legia :o)

Wisła Krakow .... Pride of Polska ....... Champions !!!!

No one's denying that, but at the same time you can't say that the Puchar Polski means nothing, or that Wisła didn't want to win it yesterday, and they didn't.

i totally agree, they have been the best, most consistant team in Poland for years. I think if any team in Poland is going to make an impression in europe it will be Wisla.

I never said it meant nothing .....

Winning a trophy is something to be proud of and a cause for celebration; I am a Wisła Krakow supporter, but I can also acknowledge another teams success :o)

Well done Legia for winning the Polish Cup; like I said ... I didn't see the game but by all accounts they deserved their win.

and.....

Well done Wisła Krakow for being Champions of Polska :o)!!

Let's hope both teams have a successful run in the European competitions next season.

There was trouble after the UEFA Cup Final yesterday in Manchester !

http://sport.aol.co.uk/inquiry-after-cup-final-rampage/article/2008051 5042609990005

I heard there were around 120,000 Rangers supporters down from Scotland for the final in Manchester.

Seems as though football hooliganism and rioting after/during matches is alive and kicking (...pardon the pun ....).

It's a worldwide problem .. I just hope that Euro 2008 goes smoothly without any such problems.

I know, I was refering to a guest who posted earlier that it meant nothing. It's clear that Wisła was the best team in Poland this year, I was just saying that they weren't on Tuesday.

Yes ... finishing top of the league by 14 points confirms that :o) Not quite the nail-biting finish to the season as in the English Premiership !

Let's see what happens next season :o)
