American ESL Teacher looking for Job in Warsaw/Krakow Area

Hello, I am an american ESL teacher. I am seeking several schools that would help with a work visa. So far I only found a few, but they are not in the warsaw/krakow area. does anyone know of any? thank you!

Why are you so intent on Warsaw or Krakow (you do realize they're a couple hundred miles apart don't you)? The former is not an easy city for newcomers and the teacher market in the second is saturated. There are nicer places to live in and work in Poland..... My advice would be one of the smaller of the larger cities Szczecin, Wrocław, Opole, Gdańsk, Toruń etc

Torun and Wroclaw are both difficult markets these days - Torun is really popular with Americans for some odd reason, and Wroclaw's market is becoming like Krakow - oversaturated.

Szczecin, Opole, Gdansk, etc are good suggestions though. Bialystok and Rzeszow too - especially as Rzeszow is very well maintained and very close to the mountains.

The only schools in Krakow and Wroclaw that will bother going to get a work permit for a non-EU citizen are the ones that demand significant experience.

Haha, could be ;) I suppose he's very much modelling himself on your average American televangelist.

There's definitely a lot going on - it might be a small place, but they seem to have a lot of ambition.

Add Bydgoszcz and Lodz to the list of cities where someone is likely to get a work permit.

I don't know Łódź but Bydgoszcz is probably an okay place. I haven't been there in years but I occasionally went over the course of several years and it improved greatly in that time. And it has much better train connections than Toruń which is off the main lines.

Also for he OP if she's hell bent on Warsaw or Cracow, she could get her first work permit in a smaller place and use that to try to build connections that might help her find a job in a place she would prefer.....

thank you so much for all of your advice. i've sent out a few applications online from schools that had posted on job boards - the only ones i heard back from were ones in non-major cities. so far i heard back from radom, and rybnik....
my top priority: i would like to be as close to warsaw if possible...

from your responses, i'm starting to realize that the esl job market is pretty saturated in these cities - and of course chances of them hiring an american over an eu citizen are slim.

if anyone has any experience with teaching in pl. i'd love to hear your stories!
