Hi Everyone,

I'd like to know what is the salary I should expect for a business related researcher position in an international company. I hold Master and PhD in IT.

Many thanks

someone mentioned in another thread here that developers salary can ammount to 7000 zl - but it is hugely city-dependent as far as I know (you will earn most in Warszawa and perhaps Wroclaw as a software developer)

the thread was started by the Kiltmaker guy and it was quite recently

Yeah, and this Kiltmaker guy has not found job in Poland yet.
Still working in the UK and looking for a good job opportunity to relocate.

Thanks both of you.

I wrote my post because I did not understand whether Kiltmaker held a M.S. + Ph.D. or not.
But I think I got the idea: it seems that 7000 PLN gross is the average salary for a position like that.

The Kiltmaker guy has British MSc in Management and IT.
And the Kiltmaker guy has just got an offer from Wroclaw to work for 7000 PLN Brutto as a Customer Service Rep for foreign customers for a global IT company.

But in general, he spent 11 months sending his CVs everywhere (directly to companies and via infopraca/pracuy.pl) just to get 2 offers - 1 in Krakow (too low salary, rejected), and another one in Wroclaw (above).

Both works are not very technical and do not require software development or IT infrastructure management skills at all. The main criteria for both jobs were: experience in international company, IT skills (basics), account management skills or consulting or sales, and knowledge of English + 1 another foreign language.

From what I heard many IT companies in Poland are afraid of hiring PhD's, mainly because they don't want to pay more and see it as overeducation...

Question - I have my Masters in IT, MCSE, CCNA, CFOI, PMP, ITIL V3 and have been presented and offer in Poznan for 186,907.50 PLN before takes per year. I will also receive an expat package to include a car and partial housing assistance? As I have never lived in poland (Lived in Moscow, Minsk, Budapest, UAE and other locations) is this a fair contract?

Any guidance and direction you can provide would be a great help.

If these other IT guys are looking at offers of 7000 zl / month (84 000 / year) then I would think your 186 000 zl/year offer is a great one. ESPECIALLY considering you have a package including a car and partial housing. In Poland housing is (in my opinion) the most expensive part. I think you could quite live like a king on those wages....
