Difference between an employee and a contractor working in Poland

What is the difference between a normal employee, who has all the normal employee-related benefits, and a contractor who invoices his/her time to the employer?

In Poland, am I correct to assume that a contractor, who is paid via invoices, does not get any employee benefits?

Absolutely. If you are a contractor /consultant and you invoice a company you are not an employee but self employed and a company is a client for you..You will not get employee's benefits but you charge much more, normally what you invoice equals to twice or thrice as much as an employee gets because you don't get paid vacations, canteen access ,health benefits and the company pays it taxes and you pay yours.etc.

Basically as a contractor you don't work= you don't eat.

The positive thing is that you earn more, have no boss yelling at you and you can leave whenever you want.

I was wondering what rate of tax a person pays if working as a contractor? Also, does a contractor pay for pension and/or health insurances to the State?

for example, my husband works in this method and pays 19% tax as compared to 35% if he was working directly for the company.
