morton 1 | 1 21 Feb 2012 #1What is the difference between a normal employee, who has all the normal employee-related benefits, and a contractor who invoices his/her time to the employer? In Poland, am I correct to assume that a contractor, who is paid via invoices, does not get any employee benefits?
pip 10 | 1,658 21 Feb 2012 #2your income tax drops significantly. what kind of benefits are you looking for?
LwowskaKrakow 28 | 431 21 Feb 2012 #3mortonAbsolutely. If you are a contractor /consultant and you invoice a company you are not an employee but self employed and a company is a client for you..You will not get employee's benefits but you charge much more, normally what you invoice equals to twice or thrice as much as an employee gets because you don't get paid vacations, canteen access ,health benefits and the company pays it taxes and you pay yours.etc.Basically as a contractor you don't work= you don't eat.The positive thing is that you earn more, have no boss yelling at you and you can leave whenever you want.
OP morton 1 | 1 22 Feb 2012 #4I was wondering what rate of tax a person pays if working as a contractor? Also, does a contractor pay for pension and/or health insurances to the State? What are tax and insurance rates charged via the payroll (a) to the Company and (b) to the employee, under a normal employer /employee arrangement?
pip 10 | 1,658 22 Feb 2012 #5depends on what your pay scale is.for example, my husband works in this method and pays 19% tax as compared to 35% if he was working directly for the company.

pip 10 | 1,658 23 Feb 2012 #7what kind of benefits do you need? If your tax drops lower do you need paid holidays? Poland has public health care or if you want to pay in the private it is from 250 to 450 per month. What else you need your employer to do?
Aditi 26 Oct 2015 #8Merged: Permanent or contract employeeIs it better to take permanent position or contract position in Poland? What would be the tax that we must pay and how about medical benefits? Considering salary to be 12 to 13k per month
