A few questions for regarding EU and Poland

Hello, I want to apologize beforehand for my ignorance in this matter, but after searching for long hours I couldn't find a better place for clear answers than here.

Here is the thing... I understand Poland became a full member of the E.U. in 2004. (Congratulations!!). But I understand Poles that want to live and work in the UK need to register with WRS (Worker Registration Scheme) if they want to work for more than one month there.

- Is this something that requires a YES or NO answer from UK authorities? In other words, Can it be denied? or is it always approved but it needs to be done anyway (bureaucracy).

- Do English citizens have to do the same in Poland?

- How long until Poles wouldn't need to register anymore. Will this change in the future?

- Are there other countries inside the E.U. that requires registration as well?

Eu citizens can move in european union with no problems and can live and work for 3 months and if they want to live longer they should register with the local office. For british citizens they should register with Wojewoda if they are working or doing business in Poland. Regarding WRS i guess there are many poles who are not registered and working for years, It is good to register because if u work for 1 year you dont need to register later. Regardig denial of WRS I guess they wouldnt do it as far as you are working legally and paying taxes. Never heard of someone getting denied for it.

Polish people are supposed to register in England, it used to cost 50 pounds. I have never heard of anyone being denied it. This may be out-dated but it is the way it worked a few years ago.

Foreign nationals living in Poland are supposed to register here in Poland, it is free here. I have never heard of anyone from the E.U. being denied it.

If you do not register within the time frame, the WRS is not there to penalise you.

At the end of the day it is a bureaucratic process, it doesn't effect much and is more of an obligation than an enforced policy.

love_sunil80: What is free for british citizens? It is practically free, Anyone from the E.U. (that includes Britain) registering with the Wojewoda in Poland has to pay 1 zloty/22p sterling. But for a Polish person to register in England it used to cost 50 pounds sterling/219 Zloty.

love_sunil80: I guess to apply for karta pobytu british need to pay too. It's not a Karta Pobtyu, but rather a certificate confirming your right to residence in Poland as an EU citizen. As for paying - half the time, they aren't even bothering with collecting the 1zl.
