Bruno E. 28 Sep 2013 #1So I have been offered a job in Katowice, working as a specialist in IT for an international bank. The salary will be 9.000 to 9.500 PLN a month. It includes some benefits like Medicare (can be extended), a bonus you could get based on your achievement (1x your monthly wage), annual review and increases in salary, some smaller incentives etc ..From what I read this seems to be a good deal. . Is it correct that I'll end up with around 65% of this. Are there any hidden costs to be taken into account, or is it safe to assume this 65% ratio ?How does it work if you take vacation. In my originating country you take vacation, these days are fully payed and you still get extra vacation money once a year. Does it work similar here? Also this Medicare, it offers some private health care from what I understood, but if would it be advisable to upgrade this to a higher level? Is there an expat community in Katowice? And does anyone know a place that offers decent Polish language lessons in the Katowice area, going to try and get my work to pay for this, and if that fails take them privately :)Cheers,Bruno
