How hard is to find head chef jobs in Poland?

Hi there
Just after a little advice I am looking to move to Poland in the 6 months. Reason behind it is I have been many a time and really like the people and the life style. I am currently Taking polish lessons and will continue to till i leave for poland.

My question is how hard will I find it to Find a Head Chefs job...... I have been a chef for 10 years 3 as head chef. I am fully qualified and have Excellent Refferences. I hope to speak a Reasonable level off Polish by the time I leave. What are the salaries like. are there many places that use English, French and Italian Styles off food......
I do know some polish and slovak dishes and pick new things very easy.......

And can any one suggest any agencies in poland that might be able to help me find work..

Well Actually lol..... I just got off the phone to my friend I would be going to see in Poland and we are thinking off opening a rest .......... and or a Takeaway.... In Lublin or somewhere near ... Any othe input from my post...

Hi colm Not planning on doing so until September next year mate not really sure what is happening .... and where. still doing my polish lessons at the moment i am moving to Leicester hopefully in next week or so to save some money for my trip to poland.... but will let you know once i get over there if you still want to know... Writing a menu takes a pen and a piece of paper not a qualification, thats for front of house staff. At the end of the day mate all the NVQ's in the world arent going to make any difference in Poland, you need Gordon Ramsey style managerial capabilities and then some. Polish dishes are very different to traditional English, in the sense that they are made with traditional methods not just thrown in an oven, Polish salads will be a big problem for any English Chef.

I was a Chef for many years in various establishments from 5 star Hotels to kiddies parties.

Ask an issue and i will resolve.

What like caramalised duck breast served on a bed of dauphiniose potatoes with orange Jew? i dont think so.

They want good, cheap hearty food, presentation is of less importance, just a big old plate of good tasting food. An English breakfast would go down a treat as would English pies.. Poland isnt ready for the fancy stuff just yet....

Lmao dude the last line was a joke..... and as for letting front off house type menus thats just lazy mate never let a waiter near a menu type em your self and just let them print them...... as for cooking i am a classically trained english/french chef who has achieved 2 & 3 rossette awards for food as a head chef in england so you could say i can cook. I have just finished work a 3 month agency contract at a 2 michelin star hotel in north of england and can run and manage a kitchen within budgets and suppose i have decent staff management skills, since i have only ever had 3 staff quit on me in 5 years.

does that qualify me to cook in poland ???????

Youre a typical Chef with the front of house staff quote and i like that, no matter what theyre never right even if youre so wrong. The fact is NVQ blah blah doesnt mean good menu writing skills, its a fcuking word program, easy as proverbial pie. Come with the chef talk as much as you like.

Ive been out of the kitchen for a long time but i could still run a large one with my eyes closed and to be quite honest i miss it in many ways.

Menu writing is a chefs job, printing and displaying is front of house / waiters. As i said it takes a pen and paper to write a menu not a comupter qualification. Stop trying to make it out as some super duper chef quality, its writing a food description nothing more.

but as a previously said that was a joke... Hence I wrote --->lol ......... We did network design LAN WAN ... Etc .. HTML, PHP coding COBOL programing... Gif animation .... Graphic design and modeling .... No menu design ....... And yeah it is kinda easy at levels 1-2 but level 3 with assesor certificate is a lil harder but not hard never said it was ......but a lot of places in England look for it now..... And as for so called front off house comment I have no problems with waiters I was one for 4 years while at college... Simply stated "waiters shouldn't be near menus" It is a chefs job not there's.....

any other comments mate kinda bored now though you have your opinions I have mine at the end off the day you don't know me or what kinda if chef I am.... So to be honest this is pointless so think we should just agree to disagree.....

Cut the crap Dave, as if you understand and have a knowledge base of half of the PC languages that youve written. Im fairly familier with PHP and HTML and what they represent, and thats from a fairly average PC back ground let alone a Michelin star chef such as you claim to be. Having a better than average education as to what gaining a michelin star represents and the in kitchen time it demands to gains such an award, quit the bull ****.

Dave forget about dishing up polish meals in some country town, its not going to work...just ask anybody how many polish take away food shops close after a short time, however try something like american hot dogs, hamburgers, hash browns, fish and chips etc and you will have a winner. Poles don't dine out but kids love there fatty take away.

me and my friend have a 2 way plan we are gonna open a place that will incorperate both ideas we will run as s takeaway kinda place during the day then in the evening do more of a rest theme.... Possibly doing some takeaway aswell...
