A List of Schools in Poland?

Hi Can anyone tell me the best way to obtain a list of schools in Poland please? This would be for age 16 and over. Thanks EeeCee

list of schools in Poland please? it's a long list. what city? are you asking about high schools and universities?

Probably just szkoła ponadgimnazjalna.
OP can find such list in every telephone book or in the Internet. It's lazy to ask people to do that for you.
A dictionary:
szkoła ponadgimnazjalna - a general term for a school after middle school
liceum ogólnokształcące - a general education high school, allows you to take matura exam and go to an university
technikum - a kind of vocational education school which gives you the title of technik (technican?) and allows you to take matura exam and go to an university
liceum profilowane - a type of a high school, a less regarded option than technikum
szkoła zawodowa - a 2-years vocational school
liceum uzupełniające - a school which graduatees of szkoła zawodowa can attend to to supplement their education, allows you to take matura exam and go to an university

So which kind of school are intrested in?

Hi again and thanks for the responses.

We run TEFL summer school vacations in the UK and for 2012 this will be offered solely to Polish students aged 16 and over.

The list, or directory, is so we can contact the language departments of schools in Poland directly.

I have people who will work through directories, but first we have to find out where this information can be obtained.

We've been in touch with the British Council (not their remit) Visit Britain (unanswered) and the Polish ministry of higher education and sciences (unanswered).

Language departments? That sounds tad too serious... ;) In schools you can find just a small school office (sekretariat).
In Poland there are bilingual schools for Polish kids (liceum dwujęzyczne or liceum ogólnokształcące z oddziałami dwujęzycznymi) - maybe these are the places you should send your offer first.

Try the Polish ministry of education. heh, I've just noticed that... the Polish ministry of higher education and sciences (MNiSW) is for higher education exlusively (universities) and MEN is the place OP should send his question. I have people who will work through directories, Do they know Polish?

There's no such thing. Unlike the UK, schools in Poland are much more...hmm.. loosely organised - individual teachers are far less "managed" than in the UK. You'd actually have to contact individual teachers - and again, unlike the UK, many of them simply won't be interested in promoting such a thing - it's just not the done thing.

For instance - there are no "heads of departments" in Polish high schools for a start.

Also, many school teachers will be reluctant to endorse anything that they don't know personally.

Your idea is good, but it's been tried by many, many people in the past.
