It's depend on your origin country. if you are eu citizen you don't need for 6 months. Student will not get work permit and not allowed to work in Poland.

Not true in the slightest.

EU citizens don't need a work permit at all.

Non-EU citizens may need a work permit, depending on the nationality and the job.

Work permits can be obtained for part time work - but this is very much upto the decision of the person issuing it.

Which would mean either he's not as well off as you, or a million times better off.

What does it matter? It was a simple question. Poland was the so called "3rd world" a couple of years back.

You'll need a work permit.

I would strongly advise against doing work without a work permit - the standard punishment is a year's ban from the Schengen zone, plus a small fine. The ban from the Schengen zone will also count against you for future visa applications - for instance, it's unlikely that you'll get a student visa again because of the previous ban.

Sorry to say it, but Poland isn't a very friendly country when it comes to illegal work. If you lived in Germany, Holland, France or the UK - it would be much easier.

My suggestion is that as a student, you're entitled to visit other EU countries for up to 3 months at a time. If you can, then you might be able to pick up jobs in other countries on a short term basis. Not legal, but probably safer than doing it in Poland.

Hi,
It's either you want to work in Poland or you came to study. You can't have both as a foreigner. Probably this restriction protects from lousy students and sleepy workers;)
Another thing is that it is your future employer's obligation, not yours, to take care of the work permit for non-EU citizen. Also, your visa application would rely on the process of getting the permit. Are you on a student visa, D-type or what kind?

why would an employer waste their time going through this red tape if they could employ a candidate with the work permit or a local?

Hello MINO,

First of I am also non-EU from Turkey. I am going to graduate from my university(bachelor) in a week, I will be in Krakow february 1st, and I will be starting for working with private company and they didnt still send me work permit! I didnt know it would take so much time. it became almost 2 weeks. And let me ask? where u are from? because me as a turkish, I gave advertisement to the website even fb, and I found people who would like to learn turkish language You dont need to work permit for it!!! , u can give private courses 1 to 1 by giving advertisement , believe me it works and u will earn quite much if u find 3-4 person. Where are u from? where are u living?

yesterday I got mail from one guy who would like to open kebap bar in krakow and he is looking for turkish who would like to work.

about getting work permit u have to apply big companies really like IBM, PMI, HCL, HAYS etc.. then it wont be problem...

Simple: because of experience or qualifications or language. If not any of these then probably locals are cheaper. Anyway, as I said work permit is nt such a big hassle for employer, but it has to be done. You don't get work permit without an employer first.

you don't buy it, you apply for it (your employer actually) and it has to take some time, which is normal and it's like that everywhere.

Yes, they have it all sorted out already. Also now some of them are looking for accountant w/Turkish.

If you can't afford to study in Poland without working, perhaps it's time to leave?

So why do you need more advice or information? The answer is simple - you have to find an employer who will apply for a work permit for you.

Here's a leaflet published by "Centrum Informacyjne dla Cudzoziemców" that explains the revelent information in a nutshell, just open up the pdf document Praca w Polsce - ANG  to view it in English.

If you're a citizens of Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Moldova or Georgia, they published a separate leaflet describing the opportunities to work in Poland without the need for a work permit.

Really? What can you know about Poland in 81?Nothing.So,let me tell you boy,Poland in 1981 was way better place than many countries are today. What a ridiculous statement.I lived in Poland in 1981 and I did not see anybody hungry, begging nor living in a shack. Now go to Vietnam,Philipines or Zimbabwe and you will see what "3rd world country" means.
