Students should be given work permits by default. This demand is there in Poland and it is an issue to look out for in the near future. I can tell you that the future is better in this regard.

I have about 1.5 years of experience in auditing and 1.5 years in financial data research and editing. However, I do not speak polish at all... Will this be a huge obstacle?

While searching for jobs, I found positions suitable for my experience. However, I am wondering what are the chances that companies will hire a foreigner and go through the process of applying a permit for me if there is already a local who is equally equipped with the same skills.

I am serious about working in krakow as I plan to relocate there for a few years. Thus, I am thinking what kind of skills and knowledge will be valued by companies...

You could always try one of the Big Accountancy firms - PwC, KPMG - they are always on the lookout for staff.

I thought about applying to big 4. However since I cannot speak polish or german, I thought it would be a challenge since being an auditor involves interaction with clients. May I ask if the majority of the companies use english or polish or german as the business language? from what i gathered, it is polish right?

The Big 4 use English, whereas the rest use Polish. However, as I know - they simply will not hire someone in Poland for a junior position without the Polish language. It's just not realistic - especially when you have to know the Polish laws.
