7000 PLN net per month. How much i can save?

Hi,

This is Raghu. I am travelling to Poland(Krakow) on first week of Jan 2012.

I will be getting close to 7000 PLN on hand sal/month. Can you please tell me how much I can save in that. (consideration : shared accomodation, self cooking, decent travel, no drinks) I would be good if you can tell me how much is the average 1 Bed room House Rent, local conveyance expenses, any indian shops, indian restaurants? You can mail me also.

Hi,

If you just live in a shared apartment and cook yourself, and cosidering that you will after taxes have around 4600 PL then you could save around 2000 PL pr. month.

Sorry my mistake, if you have 7000 PL Netto then you should be able to save around 4500 PL pr. month.

Could you please elaborate on the health care facilities available especially for children. I am planning to take my family with me. I have a 10 month old daughter.

Also, what would be the temperature during Jan-Feb. I know its going to be a hard winter..

The Polish state health services are generally very good compared to most places, and since social insurance is compulsory, you'll have access. Having said that, the type of job that gives you 7000pln net usually includes private health insurance too so whatever happens you shouldn't worry about healthcare.

The temperature will be cold and depressing. You will certainly need warm clothes and good boots.

Is the wheather is going to be very cold (usually) at night it sometimes goes all the way down to -15 Celsius.

But like Johnny M said, when you get 7000PL monthly at job like that will def provided you with private healthcare, if not totally free then for a very small monthly fee.

Would it be wise to buy the warm clothes after i reach Warsaw or from India ? Not sure what to pack for my baggage? Please help.

Hi Raghu, If you don't mind ..May I know if this is gonna be a short term or long term stay .. also i'm thinking with 4600 pln .. that is just in par with Indian IT salaries??

You better don't.Polish people are already tired of foraigners stealing Polish jobs and you may get hurt.Don't feel bad,it's nothing personal.If you want to come to visit feel invited but don't you steal job from a Polish person.Polska dla Polaków!

Hi,

Its a long term stay.. For me, I will be working from multiple countries. Initially I will be settling in Poland for say 6-8 months and then from France/Switzerland.
Agree, 4600 PLN turns out to be 70000 Rs in India. + basic component would make it to close to Rs 90K per month. Not a bad deal.

Whats your say.

You would have thousands of Poles returning to Poland...for jobs that are just not there....

Right,right Poland only exists thanks to foraigners and without foraigners there would be no jobs in Poland,none,null,nada.Oh thank you foraigners,thank you so much for all the supermarkets jobs where Polish people work for a "bowl of rice".Get the f u c k out of here!
Poland would be much better off without you ******* foraigners.Polish people are fully capable of creating jobs for themselves but not when they start with no capital base and have to compete with long established foraign companies.Part of the problem is "polish" government crooks who let you in.

I'm a foreigner living in Poland. I work hard, pay my taxes, contribute in other ways I won't go into, and obey the laws (except speeding). What do you do to help build a greater Poland?

I practice shooting and study infrantry tactics so when the **** hit the fan and uprising begin which inevitably will, just like in Libya I will have skills to fight the regime.You can not build anything on rotten fundation,it has to be burned with fire and cleaned first.Then and only then,we Polish patriots will build our Poland.
And we won't need you nor any foraigner,in fact you foraigners will be personas non grata in our Poland.

What do you contribute to either the U.S. or Poland. Apart, that is, from having fantasies about taking on the armed forces and winning.
Come back to your Poland and do something useful. Or is it that living with your parents and their magic fridge is easier than working for a living?
