Teaching English in Krakow for graduates?

Hey,

I'm just wondering how hard it actually is to land an English teaching job in Krakow (or any other Polish city for that matter). I understand there is plenty of competition, but does anyone have any figures that would give some background on the issue?

I have recently graduated with a degree in English and have experience in TESOL and teaching in general. I'm looking to work in Krakow but fear that people like myself are pretty much a 'dime-a-dozen'.

Not so, Chris. Backpackers and chancers are a dime a dozen but educated, qualified people should be able to find work. If I were you, I'd look elsewhere, though. Kraków is full! It's a bad time of year anyway. The jobs were filled in September, and Christmas is coming.
Try other, smaller cities if you really want to come soon, although I'd wait until next year. Register and PM me if you want more detailed info. Or post an e-mail address.

Hi Buddy, I'm from Liverpool working in Gdansk and I've got to say it feels like quite the opposite up here, I mean, I'm currently working for 5 schools and I'm still turning down a lot of work............... If you play an instrument you can find work in nursery's too. I've got quite a few hours playing children's songs to the kids ( writing quite a few originals too,, )... You can get around 100 zl p/h for something like that as there are very few people doing it, especially natives and especially natives from Beatle pool lol, and if you've got a Beatle do like me haha.

Not as much as you'd think mate. I divide my time between them all, so on certain days in one place and on other days in others etc........
Saying that though, I have been here for 5 years and it was quite different at the beginning, even travelling outside the city for work. I guess it's easier as time goes by as you have more of a luxury of picking and choosing what you want to do and where you want to travel.........
I wonder how it is in Krakow? It's a bigger city than Gdansk so more travelling...............
