Firstly

If you are planing to move to Poland look for job in the biggest cities.

Secondly LANGUAGE LANGUAGE LANGUAGE

If you are native speaker of foreign language you should think about learning in school (rates are (still ;) ) good)

The best jobs you can get by private contacts ...

Average salaries in different occupations you can check here:
http://praca.gazeta.pl/gazetapraca/2,79052,,,,85882776,P_WYNAGRODZENIA .html

Good websites with job oferts:

http://praca.gazeta.pl

http://praca.gratka.pl
http://www.pracuj.pl
http://www.praca.pl
http://www.jobs.pl

Employers are not used to employ people without good knowledge of Polish language.

Without knowledge of Polish language, you can work as teacher, builder, agriculturist ;) ... some specialists in international companies.

Also, if you are looking to work in multli-national companies within Poland, you can check jobbind.com. It connects you directly to jobs posted by multi-national companies in poland. Also, all of the job postings are in english.

For jobs in Poland, you can visit jobbind.com/main/pl

Hope that you find it helpful.

Hmm, it is sad but truth (still, unfortunately) that for foreginers in Poland it is very heavy to find well paid job- especially when You do not speak a languange. I have some experiance about that and believe me, or not, but the salary that was offered to well educated foreginer was FUNNY to name it in a delicate way.. Anyway, wish you good luck in Your search for well paid good job!!!

I don't understand some of you :P When I want to work in let's say UK or USA and make good salary then I have to speak English, right? right... ok and now... when you want to live in Poland, make good salary then.... ? Then you can be English teachers (and still make good salary here :P ) or learn the language and apply for some position as typical Polish person. Simple, isn't it?

I am a city & Guilds qualified electrician and I was wondering how difficult it would be to find work in Rzeszow either as an electrician or just a labourer on a building site. My Knowledge of the language is limited to Yes, No and Thank you. But I am willing to learn.

In Poland an electrician have to pass "SEP 1kV" exam www.sep.com.pl. Even if you are an experienced electrician they will be afraid to take responsibility for hire you without this paper. At the moment whole country is a big building site. Well paid job is ceramic tiler.

I will be graduating from my local university in December with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Economics with a minor in Business Administration. I have two years of experience in financial advising. Does anyone know of any jobs a guy like me could find in Poland, preferably in or near Poznan? My polish is not very good but getting better.

Sasha, all is relative.
Read other threads in this section, for example this:

Salary expectations

BTW, do you mean net salary or before taxes and social insurance?
5000 PLN (even net) would be little for a man, who doesn't cook, lives alone in a rented appartment in Warsaw and is very busy or lazy (for example always goes by car to a shop distant 150-200 m from his home), never turns off the TV, lights, buys only expensive things (even when they are no better than the cheap ones), etc.
Generally it's a good pay.

I taught English and Developmental math at community college in the USA. My grandfathers and one grandmother came from Poland. If I wanted to go back to live there, will I find jobs even while I learn Polish? Must I live in big cities?
k98_man  Mar 13, 09, 03:40    #20
Probably would be best to live in a big city if you want to find a job with your credentials. The fact that you're actually trained to be an English teacher will help a lot. When your Polish is good enough you could also probably teach math too. If it's higher level math you might be able to just do it in English, but I'm not sure about that.
Good luck

well first of all you need a Work Permit
the most reasonable way is to follow some English teaching career which should be easy for you. it would be much easier to find teaching job in bigger cities (you may need to have private classes though as well) but I guess if you decide to look for a teaching job in the countryside you should find such (but then the salaries there happen to be less atractive, so you would have to rely even more on private classes). There are not many native speakers who teach outside bigger cities - so there is at least a field to explore. One remark is native speakers mostly work for private language schools - you would perhaps need some knowlegde of Polish to apply for a job in public school.

Czesz! I am Malaysian citizen but living in Denmark..im seriously considering moving to Poland..especially in tricity ;)

Currently, im working as a Sales area Coordinator cum International 'speditor' with the logistics company in Denmark and previously i had a lot of experianced with International logistics company in Malaysia.

I dont speak polish 'yet'... but im learning right now and I can only say a few word in polish (especially all of the bad words! :))) ive a lot of polish friend and right now im leaving together with my polish bestfriend in Denmark. Ive been to a lot of difference city in Poland and I really like it and I like polish guy as well...haha!! :)) By the way, next week its gonna be my 4rd visit in Poland within 8 months!!!

Ive been trying to find the job with the logistics/shipping company over there but no success at this moment.. :( I understand that the main concern is about the languange, but when i came to Denmark few years ago, I dont speak danish at all! but i still got the job because of my education and experianced..so i try to think positive..

So....any suggestion or advice? shall I send my application by hand so that they can see my beutiful face? haha!!...sending more than 10 jobs application trough internet doesnt work..or perhaps, there is someone owrking with logistics company in this forum? ;)

there was once strong demand for you skills in Tricity our Malaysian guest (a couple of years ago) - I don't know the situation at the moment

and yes you should have some reasonable knowledge of Polish to work in your profession in Tricity - I don't mean the professional terms just everyday/general Polish - professional terms can be easy learnt while there

I see you are a positive mellow person I can even imagine smile on your face so in your case visiting a couple of companies and seeing those who are in postion to employ new people there, (say human resource), would be of much help (it is sometimes difficult to see those who actually own/run the business). Of course the more Polish you could present on the occasion the better chances are you could get a job. I think you should take some patience though.

It is somewhat less of a hassle to communicate in English in Denmark (most Danish people know English and many actually very well) - it is not so brilliant in Poland (Polish is much different from English while Danish is hmm sort of similar).

Dziekuje Gumishu!!

'there was once strong demand for you skills in Tricity' - Really?? is it by shipping or logistics company? I know there is a big port in Gdansk which is just open about few years ago and a lot of logistics company in Gdanks and Gdynia. perhaps they are still looking for someone like me? :)

you are absolutely right about Denmark. almost 95% danish people can speak very good english..thats why i dont speak fluent danish :P ....and i know the situation in Poland is difference..but i guess this is the right way to learn the languange when i have no choice but to speak the languange :)

Yes, i am very positive person and willing to try something new and challenging!..:) i think, i will try to visit some company over there..thanks for your advice gumishu!

both I think;

actually Gdynia's port is more important unless you count mass cargo (oil, ore, some coal)

I think there still is a good chance - just improve your Polish

good luck Tini Jane :)

My boyfriend is a native Portuguese and we'll be living in Gdańsk since September. He's an artist with Bachelors at Art/Drawing from Escola Superior Artistica do Porto - Extensão Guimarães. he speaks fluent English and good French, but has no knowledge of Polish whatsoever.

What are the opportunities of finding work as an artist in Gdańsk? Any ideas / suggestions? Any ideas where to look for such kind of work? I will be very grateful for your help! :)

You would find this very difficult. At harvest time farmers have a plentiful supply of local, seasonal workers.
