Hi,

Was wondering does anyone know what the start off salary of a fund accountant with a company such as State Street would be in Poland?

Also, looking for advice on this: I have 2 job offers but feel like I could get more money out of one of them. Which tactic should I use even though I really want the job?

Any advice is great!
Cheers :)

How big is the fund ?

How much post qualified experience do you have ?

I would have thought PLN 12-14k per month if in Warsaw but if its a very big fund you could get more.

Don't overplay your hand - there are lots of good Polish accountants on the market in Warsaw waiting to leave firms.

Money is not the only factor you might want to take into consideration:
Name of the company which will look best on your CV
Housing Allowance, Gym, Polish lessons, car, health coverage, management style etc

The best is to try to get a feed back from employees of those companies either over the internet or on forums

im not a qualified accountant but do have 3 years experience in hedge fund accounting if this helps.

one company is a smaller one while the other is a bit larger but with a lot longer hours.

Is being a qualified accountant important?

also both have offered the same money but what is the best tactic to get more money without blowing it??

Dont know what you have been offered, but if you are not qualified then I would cut my previous figures in half - you could get a polish qualified english speaking person for that money.

Ask those 2 companies if they would be willing to review your salary in 6 months for instance or after your trial period ,would they consider giving you an increase based on their satisfaction after 6 months .Or just ask them what is their bonus policy and when it takes place.

You may not be qualified yet but you have 3 years of "international" experience in Hedge funds ,that's very good.

If those 2 companies had wanted to hire a Polish English Speaking person they would have done so ,what they are interested in is to get someone who has worked outside of Poland in Hedge funds.
