is 2500zl a fair enough wage for on average 50 hours a week?

Hi Im an englishman living in ostrzeszow,wlkp.i speak very little polish and im relatively un-skilled.ive recently been offered some work and the pay is 2500zl a month for around 50 hours a week.in england i wouldnt get out of bed for this but im told this is relatively good for here,what are your views? thanks in advance.

Before or after tax and what sort of work? Either way it isn't great, but in Ostrzeszow it's probably about par for the course.

working as a builder and it would be after tax.as i said my polish is not good and im un-skilled so i dont know how many other opportunities im likely to be offered.

Many Poles earn about that little. I lived & worked in Poland in the recent past and would have never accepted a job for 2500zl/month but I have a good (in demand) education and experience.

Considering that you are
harford:
relatively un-skilled
and
harford:
speak very little polish

you should consider yourself lucky that someone has offered you employlemt. You are in no position to ask for more.

Good pay based on your circumstances. Take it and don't complain.

That seems about right, in that case. In somewhere like Ostrzeszow, you should be able to live OK on that amount. Many people will be on less. You shouldn't worry about it too much, and good luck!

Did you actually think for a second that you should be paid more because you are English? Kinda sounds like it...

He knows very well what the going rate is, he lives in Poland and can use the internet.

yup. 2500zl sounds good for small town. Do they offer any contract (temp)?

I'd say its a very fair rate. Polish speaking with specialist mining equipment qualifications and my brother-in-law earns far less.

i certainly do not believe i should be paid more because im English,what a stupid comment!im asking a second opinion because the only people ive spoke to until now are members of my partners family who are all very keen for us to stay here long term so could well be biased in what they are telling me.

Sounds alright if your "other" works too - can't be too expensive living there. Looks like not a half bad place either.
On the other hand, if BBman is living there, I'd say forget it. Sounds like his great education and qualifications hasn't taught him not to be a jerk.

Indeed, very much so. Don't worry about the lack of qualifications - Poles pretend to be impressed by bits of paper, but what they're really impressed by is someone who can get the job done - on time and properly.

By his constant anti-Brit rants, I'm guessing that he's full of nonsense. The fact that he's previously admitted to working as a Callan teacher tells you all you need to know about him ;)

Spot on wage for labouring, 10zl hr cash is right for strong drunks so he obviously thinks higher of you, im paying the same hourly 12 for the labours ive got and theyre keen semi skilled nondrinkers, have heard of firms paying 5/6 for village lads, sometimes not paying at all. If your gonna stay might be worth taking a plastering corse in the uk. (couple of days) as they havent caught on to wet plastering here yet.(still scraping away for hours) you can bang a room out in half the time and earn twice the ammount (still nowhere near uk plastering price hence no competition) . good luck
