i watched some highlights on channel 5 2day.the two poles were amazing.well done terry hollands.he has vastly improved since last year's competition.i was jumping high with joy when mariusz won his 4th world title.it should be his 5th title but last year he lost it to phil pfister in the last event!he got his crown back on his enemy land.that's why i was so proud of mariusz.he is a simple guy and is not ashamed of being from poland.he always says;"polska gora".his english isn't the best but he made people to want to understand him not the other way round.hopefully, next year,he will get his fith, well deserved title!

wasn't pudzi linked with some property scam (well at least fraudulent activity) in warsaw? i remember my gf telling me he was getting something akin to council flats given over to him despite not needing them. Not sure if it's true or not, but if he did step over some of his poorer country men just to have more then i can't wish anything good for the guy. Is this just a wild rumour she told me? Has anyone else heard of this case?

From what i have read MP started training seriously when he was in prison and followed it on from there. He is one of the leanest strong men i have seen with good definition and little/no gut, considering his diet includes 1kg of chocolate a day! Those steriods will take their toll one day.

Mariusz Pudzianowski steroid freak

Watched the Worlds strongest man final yesterday and Mariusz won back his title from the naturaly gifted Phil Pfister. The man is a freek of nature but a World champion never the less even if he is a heart attack waiting to happen steroid head. Is he the greatest Polish sportsman ever?

I belive it has something to do with steroids being so freely available in Poland and cheap.

I think strength is just in our blood. I just turned 17 and can lift 235 lbs as a 1RM max in the bench press. Plus my other Polish friends are also strong, even if they don't look it XD.

I don't think people are strong based on ethnicity. Americans and Scandinavians dominated the WSM contest until recently. I am an American, and I could bench a similar amount around age 17 as well. I am of Scottish, English, and Cherokee Indian descent. I still work out now at age 30. I can squat as much weight as the bars can possibly hold even though I only weigh 225. I will have to say that I think some Asians have trouble in strongman events because of their height and weight. In proportion to size, however, they are as strong as Caucasians or Blacks. I am not trying to be biased against Asians. If you think I am being biased, check out China's strongest man on the World's Strongest Man Contest in Sanja China or whatever. I think a lot of sports dominance comes from which ethnic group is relatively poor economically.

There have been all kinds of stories about certain people being really strong. I remember reading about a Circassian man carrying a horse up a mountain or something.
