you need a permit and a good reason. go speak to the police about it.

right, permit for wearing the gun is indeed required and in most cases police dont agree for people to posses a gun - 'just coz they want to'. In most cases they advise to have a gas or paralizer.
Even cups do not have guns 'for their own' while off duty.

Just asking, but why the hell do you want to carry a guy in Poland? The basic rule is unless you need a special reason to do so i.e. security or such like, then the general public are not allowed to carry guns.

What about hunting? What do you do when there is more deer than the land can support? Do you let them starve in the winter? What if there is to many rabbit, or fox etc? I think (not sure) there was some hunting even in the communist times, or am I mistaken?

yes there are hunting clubs, but places are limited and it takes ages to get in. You can go hunting with them as a guest but if you don't know anyone there, it costs a fortune.

human density is rather high in PL and in the regions that it's not the nature is rough.. not too much overpopulation at all.

mason: handcannons you have no chace for.. very slim on the long guns... with the attitude you show here... you're chances for any firearms are 0.

I guess it all depends on the type of gun, regular pistols and handguns could be the easiest to register, etc. However shotguns and the like can be harder, it could also depend on the caliber of the gun, etc. I remember someone mentioning to me about a friend of his who was legally able to bring a gun, a pistol of some sort, in Poland from the U.S. Best bet is to ask to local police.

However, I reckon gun control is a lot more stricter in Poland than in the U.S (However, this could change). I guess it's interesting you brought this subject up, considering there was another deadly shooting in the U.S at a university campus in Chicago. RIP

Because people are opportunists. Guns are effective deterrents but the results of using them don't need to be re-stated. I'd rather see crime double than people shot

Guns were made illegal, so a huge load of gun ownsers suddenlt became criminalised, therefore crime went up?

Osioł, that's a funny post. Crime went up, who cooked up those stats? There are so many complicated reasons for criminal actions, it can't just be simplified away to weak correlations

As long as he wasn't a sheep hunter. Keep the guns with the farmers and army, many citizens of the world do just fine without them

It's really, really hard to have a gun permission in Poland.

BUT it's pretty easy to buy Glock or even AK-47 so we don't have weapons but criminals do. And our police sux (average time of waiting for them is about 2 hours) so u better run fast.

Gun Laws in Poland?

Hey, im moving back to Poland in a few years from Canada. I enjoy hunting and taget shooting and i was wondering of anyone has any experience with modern gun laws in poland? For example. is it possible to own semi-automatic rifles, handguns, machine guns, etc?
I know it may sound silly but i cant find info on the net about this , and its just a point of interest.

Dzienkuje Bardzo,
Marcin
