What do you think about Turks? What do you know about us, do you know history between us? Do you know about Ottoman Empire? Do you like us, or why don't you?

and why we should like Turks, Americans, Brits or any other nation? I like particular people, not the whole nation.

relative of mine, when she was still at school used to babysit for the owners of a local kebab shop, they treated her like a member of the family, they really made her feel at home. She managed to learn some Turkish from the children, although when she told me she could say "give us a kiss, it's time for bed" in Turkish, I advised her that it probaably wouldn't be a good idea to use that phrase when on holiday in Turkey ;)

Why you would ask this is beyond me lol! I know absolutely nothing of the history and can only say I'm aware of having met three people from there - guy at work who is amazingly fun and my neighbour and his mother(who is such a sweet lady) - but this only answers about three people - doesn't it?

other muslim countries are not very respected either.. and they been at war
since war became a word.. centuries..

Least the turks helped Poland when help was needed..

the way I see it.. who cares if other muslim countries dont respect you. it isnt like
other muslim countries respect a whole lot to begin with unless its in their own
territory .. ( speaking of govt ) and leaders.. etc.

Lets leave the regular People out of it.

that is very general Pat.

you cant blame all muslims for a few extremists. the koran is actually a very peaceful and spiritual book, just in the wrong hands, can be turned to another viewpoint.

western and european countries have also been at war since the dawn of man.

you are correct, i too was generalising.

however, i have had contact with turks that like to go out and get drunk and the like then "find" themselves and observe pious behaviour.

you had contact with a select few.. and if ya ask me.. alot of Men
from any country, just name it.. like to drink and find themselfs..

if you were to go to a country ( theirs) of course. and they had a custom
which they *example* take a shot glass and put it on their nose and light
it on fire.. and it was something they did as say initiation into some type
of manhood thing.. then yes.. I could find agreement in your post.

but.. ya only ran across a few .. even I cannot make comments on whats
customary or not. because really I dont know. but. like i said. what I know
is that they did jump in and help poland.. thats deserving of respect in my eyes.

I can agree with this to a point..

Tell us how Turkish feel about Polish :)

actually how do they feel about other countries..

I know it isnt customary to put a shot glass on your nose and light it on fire
that was a Example.. just to prove a point.. but is there something similar
to what King says about men * finding themselfs* ?

i have respect for Polish people because they had an independence war like us, they have a national anthem
Poland isn't dead like we have Turks isn't dead. Istiklal marsi, history is important and i think Turks-Polish Had nice relationship because of their good personalities.
