Say 'Pawn' in an eastend accent + sh + key.

I though paczki was a specific donut. Are all donuts considered paczki in Poland (or maybe there aren't any other types of donuts there)?

One of my Polish friends said that doughnuts were nothing compared to p±czki.

Sort of like they were "in a class alone"......

But I haven't ever tried one, so I have no clue....

The Poles are very proud of their bread and donuts. I've never tried American donuts but I imagine they are good. Well, that's a lie. I tried Mr Donuts in Izumo, Japan, and they were tasty. I must say that Polish donuts are impressive. I think donuts originated in France, much to the chagrin of my American friend. I reckon the French ones would be right up there. Their patisseries are sth else!!

There's a nice way to remember the pron of p±czek. Think of chess, pawncheck

LOL. Now that doesn't suprise ;)

One of the things I hope Poland holds on to as it goes through rapid change is freshly baked produce. Fortunately the mass-produced kak that is shovelled out to us in the UK has yet to make much inroad, and lets hope it stays that way. Theres nothing like local, freshley baked goodies that are easily available
