Dmitry Medvedev says if elected in March he will make Pres. Putin PM.

The clear favourite to become Russia`s next President, Dmitry Medvedev, says he wants Vladimir Putin to be the country`s Prime Minister. Medvedev says it will ensure successful policies, which helped overcome economical and social problems, are continued.

They should learn democracy from European elites.

Doesn't matter who will be the front page guy, KGB will still run things anyway.

It is subject for next discussion (BTW European govs have been chosen in free elections)

as to Russia

I think that fact that Kremlin dont pretend that there is democracy in Russia is positive.

Do you remeber why we stoped our army just after WWI ? We stoped it because Lenin asked us to do it because he had problems with Denkin army, and Denkin was considered as France UK ally ... so we could get support in war against "red" Russia but we couldnt agains "white" (Denkin promised small autonomy for Poland) so we listened Lenin and gave him time to smash "white" forces and later in 1920 we won in war against Reds ...

Russia democratic or not will always have ambitions, I think that Russia treated the same as China will be much better for Poland than democratic one.

I m not tallking about friendship ... it will be easier to get some support when Russia is totalitarian, than in case when Russia would be democratic ... because in both cases Russia will have ambitions.

as to realtionships we have different aims and positive friendship isnt possible ...

They are not elected to sell out their competences aboard. This is unconstitutional and everybody knows that.

So they will be allowed to steal technology and companies from all over the world will beg to be allowed on their market. Not that bad for my taste. When they are not forced to pretend to be democratic decision process is much faster. If they only have the clue what to do. :)

not right now but eventually we will.. but russia will definitely have to back off quite a bit if we're not to feel threatend.

speed isn't all that especially when it comes to people's lives.. speed implies some reclessness or lack of thorough processes. there has to be a healthy balance.. it's not healthy in russia right now.. imho.

i don't know if they like it but what i am hearing is thatthings are normal in russia according to a few of the ones i talk to.. they don't seem to find the way putin runs things, out of the orinary or anything to be worried about.. i find that just as strange... i really need to talk to one that is outside his gov's influence.. he is in canada but it must be remote as he is very hard to get a hold of.

Apparently they are quite happy with their current political system. Putin makes Russia look strong and that's what majority of Russians want. I don't see Russia change in the near future.
