I have a job teaching English in Torun at Speak Up English school, but I want to leave at the end of next month for personal reasons, nothing to do with the job. I would like to help the head of studies find a new native English speaker teacher who can take my place, I can recommend this job as the head of studies is easy to get on with, and you are given a regular number of hours with a regular timetabe and no split shifts. You work on one weekend day every other week and mark homework and phone personal students once a month to see how they are getting on, but lesson preparation time is minimal as the school has folders with pre planned lessons and materials for each class. You don't have to be at school unless you have classes to teach. You teach only adults and the classes are normally very small, with a maximum of five or ten students, depending on the type of class. Pay is about 40 PLN after tax, and you can work a maximum of 18hrs per week. (Whole hours, not 45 mins). This works out as about the equivalent of 550 British pounds a month after tax. Rent in Torun is very cheap.

Hi Sisa,

I'm Glenn (friend of Chris's...the one who had a birthday party recently). I hear that Chris has got this job. 40 PLN an hour is not too bad for Toruń.

E-mail me sometime at glennstandish@yahoo.com . It'll be nice to meet up before you go back to England.

Best wishes,
Glenn
