Neither of you know anything about good American beer

Does such a thing as "good American beer" even exist? I thought there was an episode about that on Mythbusters?

But seriously, out here we only get some of the known brands and Sam Adams is the best of a poor bunch. Given the popularity of the microbreweries (I presume these are regional - sort of going back to the roots of beer where they had regional bases) I would imagine that there are some good ones.

Unfortunately the US marketing shows off the "crap of the crop" as being the best.

Yap :) Some are bred in college drinking the cheapest thing possible. They eventually grow into it. These are also the only beers that they sell at sporting events.

There's so much more available in the US. It's unfortunate that's all you can find. In NJ we can get almost every brand... except for Bosman, I can't seem to find it anywhere. We have a rather large PL population though. Do you have PL communities in MI?

What is the strongest PL beer? The strongest I can find in the US is Black Boss 9.4%(Witnica).

There's only 1 liquor store that sells it here in NJ. Okocim and Zywiec are common here too. It's nice to live in a state with high PL population :)
